Link Public Schools Branding

// Project Overview

I had the opportunity to create a fresh brand identity for Link Public Schools, a new charter school in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The founder of the school was deeply committed to embedding the concept of Ikigai—a Japanese term meaning "reason for being"—into the logo design, as it resonated strongly with the school’s goals and values.

// The Problem

The challenge was to visually express the profound concept of Ikigai in a way that would not only represent the school's mission but also appeal to the diverse community it serves. The logo needed to be more than just a symbol; it had to embody the school's commitment to helping students find purpose and meaning in their education.

// The Approach

Working closely with the founder, I explored various interpretations of Ikigai and how they could be visually represented. This process involved understanding the school’s core values and translating them into design elements that would resonate with students, parents, and the broader community.

// The Solution

The final logo design elegantly encapsulates the concept of Ikigai, reflecting the school’s dedication to guiding students toward finding their purpose. The design is versatile, allowing it to be used across various mediums while maintaining its symbolic significance.
